There are several different ways of using Breato. However, in all cases Breato provides the hosted hardware and software in the 'Cloud' and all of the tools used to build applications. The key decisions in harnessing the power of Breato lie in the starting point for building the applications - do you start from scratch or do you start from a set of pre-built applications available from the Marketplace - and who builds the applications - you or an Independent Software Vendor (ISV).
The easiest way of using Breato is to use a suite of applications that have been created by one of our ISVs. These suites of applications are usually targeted at specific business sectors and address working practices that are common to that sector. For example, asset management, time sheet and expenses control, sales tracking, CRM, online accounting, etc. ISVs often have in-depth experience of particular business sectors and are able to create a suite of applications that target specific business requirements within these sectors. These suites of applications are usually rented on a monthly basis and are provided by the developer "As Is", meaning that they will maintain and enhance the applications over time, but they will not customize them for your specific needs.
Search the Marketplace for applications that meet your needs, then browse the features of each application offered by the various ISVs. Some ISVs even provide on-line demonstration and videos, while others offer trial periods for their applications.
Some ISVs are willing to let their suite of applications be used as the basis for the development of systems that are tailored to the precise needs of a company. If the applications they offer on the MarketPlace seem to tick most of the boxes on your list, and they offer a "tailoring" service, then this may be a convenient way of getting started quickly. You will be able to use the applications "out of the box" to being with, allowing you to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the applications. You can then discuss the changes you would like the ISV to make to the applications so that they compliment your business requirements. This process can be repeated as many times as needed, with each incremental change bringing additional benefit to your business. This approach is cost-effective and also encourages changes to be made in small batches, which is less disruptive for users of the system and easier to cost.
ISVs who offer application customization services are usually authorized Breato Development Partners, and have thus gained accreditation for the use of the Breato application design and development tools.
To find an ISV that offers customization services for their applications, search the MarketPlace for applications that meet your needs, making sure that you enable the "Customize" check box. Browse the features of each application offered by the various ISVs, then enter your details after pressing the "Contact Me" link on the search page.
